Chasing a huge target of 226 runs, the Oman team struggled from the start and was restricted to 120/9 in the allotted overs.
- Mohammad Nadeem: 43-year-old Nadeem resisted and scored an unbeaten 53 runs and became the oldest half-century scorer in World Cup history.
- Bowling: For Sri Lanka, Dushmantha Chimera and Mahesh Thekshana took two wickets each to give Oman’s batting line no chance.
